MovieQuick is a POS software company founded in 2015 in Surat, Gujarat. We build cinema-specific food and beverage ordering and management systems exclusively for theatre and multiplex owners across India. We do not build software for restaurants. We do not build for retail. We build only for cinema — because cinema F&B is a completely different problem that needs a completely different solution.
MovieQuick was built to make that possible. We started with one problem — cinema owners were losing F&B revenue every interval because the traditional counter system could not handle peak demand in 15 minutes. We built a QR code food ordering system that solves that — and the cinema POS software that manages every order, every counter, and every rupee in real time. We kept building — real-time dashboards, automated P&L reports, multi-location management, staff control, payment tracking. All of it designed around the way cinema F&B actually works. Because nobody was building a movie theater POS system specifically for this problem.
In 2015, Karan Kachara and Chirag Lukhi were looking at the same problem that every cinema and multiplex owner in India was facing — but nobody had built a proper solution for. The interval at a movie theatre is 15 minutes. Hundreds of customers try to get food and drinks at the same time. The counter can only serve a fraction of them. The rest walk back to their seats empty-handed. That revenue is gone forever.
The problem was not a staffing problem. It was a systems problem. And the systems available at the time — general restaurant POS, generic ordering apps — were not built for cinema. They did not understand the interval. They did not handle seat-level ordering. They did not give theatre owners real-time visibility across multiple locations from one screen.
So Karan and Chirag built MovieQuick from scratch — in Surat, Gujarat — as a cinema-specific solution. Not a restaurant system adapted for cinema. A system built for cinema from the ground up. With QR code ordering for every seat. A real-time owner dashboard. Automated P&L. Multi-location management. Staff access control. Payment tracking. Everything a theatre operator needs — and nothing they do not.
MovieQuick has been operational since 2015 and is currently live at cinema properties across India including Cinezza Multiplex. Every feature in the system was built in response to a real problem faced by a real theatre owner.
MovieQuick was co-founded in 2015 by two people who saw the same gap in India's cinema industry and decided to build the solution themselves — from Surat.
Karan Kachara is the co-founder of MovieQuick. Based in Surat, Gujarat, Karan has been building and scaling the MovieQuick platform since 2015 — focused on making cinema F&B management genuinely simple and profitable for theatre owners across India.
Chirag Lukhi is the co-founder of MovieQuick. Also based in Surat, Gujarat, Chirag has been building the technical foundation of MovieQuick since 2015 — making sure that the system theatre owners deploy works exactly as it should from day one.
MovieQuick builds one thing — a complete F&B ordering and management system for cinema and multiplex owners. Every product decision, every feature, every update is built around one specific question: does this make a cinema operator's F&B business more profitable and easier to manage?
Every industry-specific software company has a reason they chose to focus on one vertical. Here is ours.
A restaurant has continuous service across an 8-hour day. A cinema has 200 customers who all want food at the exact same 15 minutes — and then nothing for 2 hours. A restaurant POS is designed for continuous throughput. A cinema needs burst capacity management, seat-level order routing, screen-specific menus, show-based demand patterns, and an owner dashboard that shows multi-location data in real time. No restaurant system is designed for this. No general ordering app is designed for this. That is why we built MovieQuick specifically for cinema — and why we do not build for anything else.
These are not marketing statements. These are the actual operating principles that explain every product decision MovieQuick has made since 2015.
We do not add features for restaurants. We do not adapt for retail. Every feature we build is asked one question first — does this make a cinema owner's operation better? If the answer is no, we do not build it.
Every feature in MovieQuick exists because a real theatre operator had a real problem. Interval revenue loss. Cash leakage. No multi-location visibility. No P&L without manual work. We built solutions to real, documented problems.
A theatre owner who decides to use MovieQuick should be live in days — not weeks or months. Our onboarding process was built to get your cinema operational within 3 to 5 days of your decision. Every day you are not live is revenue being left on the table.
Owner gets full visibility. Manager gets their theatre. Staff get their counter. Nobody gets access beyond what their role requires. This is not a feature — it is the fundamental design principle of how MovieQuick was architected from 2015.
